I have a collaborative approach and believe that the families I work with should lead the content of our work together.
I have experience of using creative approaches and adapt my work to suit people of all ages and abilities.
I like to agree goals together and seek session by session feedback to review progress and adapt.
I draw on my professional and lived experience to offer a wide variety of ideas and approaches in my work.
I offer clinical consultation to help professionals and families to work together and benefit from Systemic approaches to influence the work.
I am a qualified Systemic Psychotherapist/ Family Therapist. I have over 20 years experience working accross Child and adolescent mental health services and Specialist Perinatal care; this includes work with parents and carers, families and professional teams. My work has covered community services and in-patient care with individuals and families with complex needs.
I am passionate about the care of families, including family transitions, relationships and parenting. I feel passionate that working early to support difficulties that arise can improve the outcomes for all and I work to reduce stigma about families asking for help. I am conscious in my work, supporting families from a variety of backgrounds with different social and cultural experiences and aim to use a collaborative approach in all that I do.
I am a parent myself and draw on my professional and lived experience.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
