Integrative
I offer in-depth counselling sessions on a medium or longer term basis in Saffron Walden, Essex, and at my home address in Castle Hedingham, in Essex and close by to Sudbury in Suffolk. I enjoy working with adults on a 1:1 basis, in relationships and with small groups.
My approach is primarily Humanistic, grounded in Attachment Theory and guided by current neuroscience.
How I work:
Within the safety of the therapeutic relationship, I focus on how my client experiences their life in the present. Every client has a unique situation and is considered as a whole. I encourage my client to explore and develop their own self awareness so it is made possible for them to begin to identify what it is that is needed in their life now. At the core of our work we will be looking at relationships in all dimensions.
My approach is collaborative. Building a warm, non- judgemental, secure relationship becomes a fundamental part of our work together.
I offer support with:
•Unexpected life events, period of change and loss
•Exploring, understanding and learning to manage overwhelming emotions
•Releasing old patterns of behaviour that no longer work
•Developing fulfilling relationships
•Realising inner potential
•Reconnecting with life
•Finding a greater sense of purpose
When parts of us are disconnected, through trauma or unconscious habits, we may feel stuck, cut off or incomplete.
“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” Carl G Jung
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
