I bring an empathic person-centred approach to my work as an Integrating Arts Psychotherapist, holding each clients lived experience central to the work. My versatile, client led approach aids connection while also underpinning my trauma informed approach. I am particularly passionate about to use of the art in empowering clients in overcoming internalized shame and negative self worth.
As an integrative practitioner I work collaboratively with each client to provide a tailor-made approach, allowing us to work at their pace, and at emotional depth. The key theoretical models that inform my works Geustalt, Transactional Analysis, and Self Psychology. While considering the impact of past experiences upon current interpersonal and intrapersonal relational patterns, space is always held for hope and personal growth.
Creative techniques including sand tray, visual arts, bodywork, written word, metaphor, while encouraging clients to integrate their personal interests into the work, such as superheroes or computer games, as a means of facilitating active imagination, a technique offering surprisingly powerful insight for those struggling to express emotions. Regardless of artistic capabilities, we can create a unique approach that feels right for you.
Compassion and empathy are the constants that run through my work. I’m honoured to help others live life more fully, breaking away from internalised limiting beliefs, to build meaningful connections with the world around them.
Hi I’m Charlotte. I am a UKCP and HCPC registered psychotherapist and Integrative Art Psychotherapist. I have experience working with a wide range of adults (18+, individuals & groups), within the NHS, charities, and private practise. My established privates practise combines talking therapy, art therapy, somatic work and nature-based therapy. Sessions take place online, in a creative studio based in Hackney Wick, or in London's green spaces.
I specialise in supporting people through persistent personal challenges; including anxiety, depression and limiting self-worth, alongside complex relational patterns; including people-pleasing, conflict, and codependent relationships. I also support those who support others, considering the impact of vicarious trauma in the work place.
As a neuro-affirming practitioner, empowering those who identify as neurodivergent is a personal passion. I provide a welcoming space in which to celebrate the complexities of neurodivergent minds, informed by clinical research, clinical experience, and lived experience.
Having worked with the arts throughout my life, I am passionate about supporting others to connect with their own creativity, as a gateway to healing.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
