Charlie works pluralistically, as he believes people may need different things at different phases of therapy, and he always tailors his approach to the lived experience of the individual sitting in front of him. This means paying attention to your intersectionality (race, gender, culture, sexuality, religion, etc.) and how these might shape your worldview and presenting concerns.
Charlie grounds his practice in a relational-developmental framework, believing that early life experiences and our relational history shape who we are and how we position ourselves in our lives today.
Charlie works integratively, which simply means there are multiple routes therapy can take, depending on what you bring and your explicit and implicit needs of therapy. Whilst this leaves room for creativity and openness, Charlie's work is always grounded in a consistent philosophy, believing that change occurs in real relationships and through exploration rather than explanation.
Please note that Charlie does not offer short-term work and is currently relocating his practice, so he must see clients online until further notice.
Charlie is a therapist specialising primarily in abuse, addiction, anxiety disorders (including OCD), bereavement, depression, eating disorders, neurodivergence (including ASD, ADHD, and AuDHD), personality disorders, PTSD and complex trauma, self-harm, and suicidality.
He developed his knowledge at UCL’s Institute of Education before honing his clinical skills at the prestigious Yes We Can Youth Clinics in the Netherlands, where he later ran their global aftercare programme during the COVID-19 pandemic. Concurrently, Charlie started his own private practice in London and undertook further specialist BPS-accredited training in trauma and eating disorders.
Alongside his private practice, Charlie is pursuing a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy by Professional Studies at Metanoia Institute. He has already completed the clinical components of this training, including several years of NHS experience and placements in settings supporting neurodivergence, complex trauma, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, active psychosis, and OCD. Charlie has subsequently been awarded Full Clinical Membership of the UKCP as an Integrative Psychotherapist.
Charlie draws on his own history of mental health challenges and strives to create an authentic, vulnerable therapeutic relationship. Working integratively and relationally, he believes every client deserves a unique, subjectively tailored approach.
50-minute sessions are available online, and Charlie offers open-ended work. Please note that Charlie only works with 12- to 33-year-olds in his private practice.

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
