My Approach

As an Integrative and Transpersonal therapist my first consideration is to build a safe and stable therapeutic alliance for the work. As well as a relational dialogue with a client I also work with creative processes to enhance deeper understanding of a client's experience. All of the above are intended to offer a space for a client to reflect on themself. This can help a person to find a new inner experience which can facilitate a different way of being in relationships in the world.

About Me

I have been working as an Integrative and Transpersonal psychotherapist for over 35 years and I still love the experience of listening to a person's journey through their life. I deeply find it a privilege to be able to help a person know more of themself and to find more peaceful ways of being with themself and living their life. I have also spent a lot of my career as a trainer and supervisor in the counselling and psychotherapy field.

I work with

  • Couples
  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I find it an immense privilege to help a person to recover from early childhood trauma. I appreciate how challenging this journey can be for a person. I work in collaboration with the person about what pace they want and help to resource them with psychological tools and inner resources to sustain them on this deep process.
I have seen how debilitating anxiety can be for a person. It robs a person of much joy and functioning in life. In my work I explore where the sources of anxiety have developed and work with the person to reduce their levels of anxiety.
In working with a couple i aim to help them communicate more openly with their partner. There may be years of unspoken feelings and thoughts about the other that is contributing to difficulties in their relationship. I aim to engage both people in this process.
Family or no family we are impacted by these early relationships. I work with a person to understand how family dynamics affect them internally especially in terms of self identity and externally in relationships .
I have over 30 years experience as a supervisor. I work with trainees to very experienced psychotherapists. It is a joy to see therapists develop and grow in confidence in their professional life.
