My speciality is interweaving a range of cutting-edge trauma-informed practices into EMDR to suit your needs. Attachment-Focussed EMDR, IFS and creative approaches are ways which enable you to harness the brain's full healing capacity. This builds upon my core training as a humanistic relational practitioner which seeks primarily to foster your own potential. Among my influences are: Kohut's ideas around empathy, perspectives on early personality development, trauma-informed approaches (Mate, Van der Kolk, Herman), neuroscientific insights into the nervous system, polyvagal theory, relational psychoanalysis, as it informs the therapeutic relationship, contemporary transactional theories of human interaction, social, cultural and existential theories.
I work with people on both a short and longer-term basis. If you think you might be interested in working with me, you are welcome to book a free 15 minutes exploratory phone call. If you come for an initial session, my hope would be that you leave with a clear idea about whether we would be a good fit, and if so, how our work together will help. As an ethical practitioner, I abide fully b the UCKP's code of ethics. I am in regular supervision, update my skills frequently and practise many meaningful forms of self-care.
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist with specialist training in IFS (Internal Family Systems) informed EMDR. If you are feeling low, stuck or struggling with overwhelm, I will work sensitively and flexibly to help you address whatever feels difficult in the present and unresolved from the past. As a calm, compassionate, inclusive practitioner, I believe strongly in the therapeutic relationship as the most healing aspect of our work. As such, I work collaboratively at your own pace, supporting you on your unique path towards a happier and more fulfilling life.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
