While theory guides my practice, it constitutes just one aspect of my broader psychotherapy philosophy - It is the interplay between my theoretical stance and personal values that shapes my identity and approach as a Child Psychotherapist. I prioritise four fundamental principles in my practice: placing emphasis on fostering the quality of the therapeutic relationship, employing a flexible approach tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client, demonstrating utmost respect for every individual, and adhering rigorously to the highest ethical standards established by the UKCP frameworks. In other words, I value the transformative power of a trusting therapeutic relationship where growth, development of autonomy, and self-discovery can flourish in a safe environment characterised by a lack of judgement, active listening, empathy, flexibility, creativity, a fundamental respect for diversity, and ethical integrity.
As an integrative Child Psychotherapist, I have been privileged to work extensively with children, employing a range of therapeutic modalities including person-centred, transactional analysis, and psychodynamic approaches.
Languages spoken: English, Arabic
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
