I work in a way that includes regular support and space to think carefully with parents. I also work closely with the wider network if necessary, including teachers, support workers. I provided either long term or short-term Child Psychotherapy, dependent on the needs of the child and the family.
I am an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and have been working with children and their families therapeutically since 2010. I draw upon a range of theoretical frameworks to inform my work, which is based on an Integrative model, engaging with the client in a non-threatening way, helping them to organise their feelings and process traumatic experiences. I use the creative arts to provide a safe, collaborative and non-judgemental space. My work is relationship based and I use a range of techniques and mediums, which can include; sand tray, paint/pens and other art materials, clay and play-dough, masks and puppets, music and movement, role play and storytelling/books, art, drama and music. The empathic support I offer through therapy, allows my clients to manage and make sense of their feelings.
I have an established private practice in Sussex as well as working in schools around Sussex and Surrey as a Child Psychotherapist. I have also worked for many leading charities as a Child Psychotherapist including Place 2 Be, Hove YMCA and the Oasis Drug Project. Prior to qualifying as a Child Psychotherapist, I worked with children and families in many different capacities during the last 20 years.
