My Approach

No two people are the same, and I don’t believe therapy should ever feel like a “one size fits all” process. My approach is flexible and tailored to you, your experiences and what you hope to gain from therapy.
I believe the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important parts of therapy. Feeling safe, comfortable and understood matters. I offer a warm, accepting and confidential space where you can talk openly, without judgement and at a pace that feels right for you.
As an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I draw from a range of approaches including Person-Centred Therapy, CBT and psychodynamic thinking. This means we can look not only at what is happening in your life now, but also at how past experiences, relationships and patterns may be influencing the way you think, feel and respond today.
My style is compassionate, down-to-earth and, when helpful, direct. I won’t simply sit back and leave you to work everything out alone. We will work together to make sense of what is happening, recognise patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build emotional resilience and develop practical ways of coping and creating change.
Some people come to therapy for support with a particular problem, while others want to understand themselves on a deeper level. Whether our work is short-term or longer-term, we will regularly consider what is helpful for you and make sure therapy continues to meet your needs.
Most importantly, therapy is a collaborative process. You bring your experiences and understanding of yourself, and I bring my therapeutic knowledge and experience. Together, we work towards helping you feel more confident, more in control and better able to move forward.

About Me

I have spent many years supporting adults, young people and couples through times when life feels difficult, confusing or overwhelming. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief, relationship problems, low self-esteem, or perhaps you simply know that something needs to change but are unsure where to begin.
I offer a warm, down-to-earth and confidential space where you can talk openly and feel genuinely heard, without judgement. I believe that feeling comfortable with your therapist is incredibly important, so my approach is supportive and compassionate, but also honest and direct when this may help you move forward.
As a UKCP Accredited Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I do not believe that one type of therapy suits everyone. I work flexibly, drawing from person-centred counselling, psychodynamic therapy, CBT and other therapeutic approaches to suit you and what you are experiencing.
Together, we can explore what is happening in your life now, while also looking at past experiences, relationships or patterns that may continue to influence how you think, feel and respond today. Therapy can help you understand yourself more deeply, recognise patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop healthier ways of coping and begin making changes that feel meaningful and achievable.
Alongside my private practice, I have extensive experience working within the NHS, supporting people with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and a wide range of emotional difficulties.
People often come to therapy worried that they will not know what to say. You do not need to arrive with everything worked out. We can start wherever you are.
I offer individual, couples and young people's therapy from my private practice near Norwich, as well as online sessions across the UK.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Anxiety & Panic Supporting adults and young people experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, health anxiety, excessive worry and stress, helping them regain confidence and control over their lives.
Helping couples improve communication, rebuild trust, resolve conflict and strengthen emotional connection in a supportive, impartial environment.
As conversations around menopause and perimenopause become more common, I've noticed this important topic being addressed more frequently in my clinics. I am dedicated to supporting clients who are navigating this stage of life, which has often been hidden away in plain sight for far too long.
Supporting clients living with obsessive thoughts, compulsions and overwhelming anxiety, using evidence-based therapeutic approaches to reduce distress and improve daily life.
Trauma & PTSD Working sensitively with clients who have experienced childhood trauma, abuse, relationship trauma or distressing life events, helping them process difficult experiences safely and at their own pace
