I have worked as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor since 2001, studying for an MSc in Gestalt Psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute in London and qualifying in June 2008.
During this time I have worked with a diverse group of people facing a wide variety of challenges such as relationship issues; childhood trauma and neglect; physical, sexual and emotional abuse; stress and anxiety; adjustment to life stage changes; low self-esteem: the impact of family break-up; bereavement and depression.
I work within a humanistic model, at the heart of which is the client/therapist relationship. One of my key aims is to create a safe, open, non-judgemental relationship in which you feel able to explore your own natural process resulting in deeper self-understanding. I am there to help facilitate this process which can only happen through the trusted relationship that we will build over time.
Prior to training as a psychotherapist I worked in the business world for over 20 years which helps me as a therapist in many ways, such as understanding work relationship dynamics and the pressures of a commercial environment. At different stages of my life I have lived and worked abroad.
I offer both short term (6-12 sessions) and ongoing weekly therapy depending on your needs which we can discuss together when we meet.
