My Approach

In our sessions, we will talk about anything you want to. We might explore your thoughts and feelings, think about how the past is impacting the present, or work creatively. Above all, we will be guided by you.

Counselling isn’t about telling you what to do. Instead, it can help you understand yourself better and manage your emotions more easily. That gives you more options for how to deal with whatever life throws at you.

Above all, research shows that having a good bond is really important for success in counselling, and I take that seriously. I want you to feel you can be as open as you want to be.

About Me

Hi, I’m Bryony, and I’m a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. Chances are you’ve read that a lot today! There are a lot of people to choose from, and a lot of technical terms. At the end of the day, you’re looking for someone to help you feel better.

So, let’s keep it simple.

I’m here to help you. I’m warm and non-judgemental, and I have experience working with lots of different people. Maybe you want help with something specific, like anxiety, depression, bereavement, or trauma. Or maybe you want to talk about something more general, like stress, relationships, or things not feeling right. I have helped people with all of these, and will support you in the direction you want to go.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I've supported those with experience of sexual abuse through my work at The Sue Lambert Trust and the Centre for Action on Rape and Abuse.
Having worked with clients at St Elizabeth Hospice, I have particular experience with bereavement.
I have worked with different kinds of trauma, from sexual violence to family issues. My experience at The Sue Lambert Trust and the Centre for Action on Rape and Abuse has had a strong focus on supporting clients with a history of sexual violence.
