Choosing to begin psychotherapy and counselling is an act of courage, and working with me means you won’t have to face that journey alone. I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore what brings you to therapy now and discover new ways of relating to yourself and others. My integrative approach draws on a range of therapeutic perspectives to help you uncover your unique needs and create lasting change. Together, we can uncover patterns that no longer serve you, heal old wounds, and help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and connection.
What sets me apart is the way I combine relational depth with a practical, down-to-earth approach. I don’t just focus on symptoms, but help you uncover the patterns and experiences shaping your life, so that change becomes possible. My professional expertise and lived experience, fosters a therapeutic space where we can meet on a deeply personal level. Whether online or in person, my aim is to help you feel truly seen, understood, and empowered to move forward.
Hi, I’m Broes (pronounced as Bruce). I am an English- and Dutch/Flemish-speaking therapist with an LGBTQ+ and neurodiversity-affirmative practice. I work with people from a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences, including people of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities, neurodivergent individuals, and clients who identify as Gender, Sex and Relationship Diverse (GSRD).
My path to who I am, where I am and what I do today has been everything but a straight line. Originally from multilingual Belgium, I’ve lived and worked across different languages and cultures and have experienced many different ways of looking at life and society. I have always been interested and drawn to people who somehow seem to be experiencing life differently from others. I started my professional career as a Secondary School Teacher which I thoroughly enjoyed and stimulated by my zest for life I moved to London over a decade ago where I climbed the corporate ladder in a large multinational. Along the way and with the help of therapy at different stages in my life I managed to take back control of my life, rather than my life living me. Over time, I came to see how profoundly therapy can shift a life — not by fixing us, but by helping us reconnect to our strength, our clarity, and our capacity for choice.
Training as an Integrative Psychotherapist allowed me to bring together different approaches — humanistic, psychodynamic, relational, developmental and somatic — so we can work in the way that best supports you. What matters most to me is that our work feels real, respectful, and alive. It’s a collaborative process: you set the pace; I hold the space.
As a gay man, I specialise in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and am a member of Pink Therapy.
