My style is integrative, and I draw on a many theories and techniques to tailor my work to the specific needs of the individual. I regard my work as a partnership in which I, as the trained professional, help the client understand what is at the root of distress or disturbance. I believe that this understanding, together with reflection, and the opportunity to explore in a safe environment, are significant factors promoting healing and growth.
I qualified as a psychotherapist in 2001, and I have worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, a voluntary organization and an educational establishment. I have a private practice in West London. I have worked with clients from many backgrounds and across a wide range of issues.
I continue to undertake professional development in a range of approaches and in relation to different issues. I have a strong interest in research, especially into what makes psychotherapy and counselling effective. I am a member of the UKCP's Practitioner Research Network, and of the Society for Psychotherapy Research.
I am also a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society and a retired Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
