I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and my approach to therapy has been informed by both person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, alongside attention to what our bodies might hold and can tell us. This means that as well as recognising you as the expert on your own experiences, we may look back at some of your early and family history and how those relationships may be influencing what is happening for you in the present.
I offer an initial, no fee, 20-minute phone or online conversation. This is an opportunity where we can meet, ask questions and find out more about what you are hoping for in terms of your therapy and whether I might be a suitable therapist for you.
I am a psychotherapist and counsellor trained at the Minster Centre with qualifications in Integrative Counselling, Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling and MA in Psychotherapy. As a therapist I offer a non-judgemental space for you to explore whatever you want or need to bring. Perhaps something in your life is no longer working or has become too difficult to bear. It might be that your customary ways of living or relating no longer serve you or no longer feel possible. Therapy provides opportunities to think, feel and reflect on what is happening in the present, your past, and on your internal and external worlds. You might be coming to therapy wanting to discuss relationship, work and/or family experiences and we might find that there are common themes or patterns. Therapy is a place where you can be curious and take risks and where I will provide a holding and relational space where all parts of you are welcome.
I have worked in the voluntary sector with homeless and vulnerable adults, in higher education and the university sector, and I have been a volunteer counsellor for a LGBTQ charity.
