Working with your unique narrative, intuition and awareness of holding patterns, we can work together to support your body to be its own therapeutic resource. With these behaviours no longer held in the body, you have the space to truly express yourself fully and authentically.
My journey to becoming a body psychotherapist started during my career as a vocal coach and performance artist. Working with performers, I was drawn to how, not only lyricism and intonation portrayed emotion but also physical movement, and the role it played in affecting our vocal expressions. In my own performance work, I have used the creative arts, music, body, breath and voice to find my own sense of natural balance.
It was this personal experience that led me to explore the intricate relationship between verbal and non-verbal communication and how this could be developed to allow a greater sense of wellbeing. In particular, I am interested in how this presents emotionally through out-dated body held patterns of behaviours.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
