My Approach

As an integrative counsellor, I tailor therapy to meet your unique needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all method. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches—including psychodynamic, person-centred, and trauma-informed models—to help you explore both present challenges and past experiences that may still be shaping your thoughts, feelings, and relationships today.

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I believe that being truly heard, understood, and accepted can be deeply healing. Our sessions will offer you a safe, compassionate, and confidential space to reflect, gain insight, and make sense of what’s going on beneath the surface.

I offer both short-term focused work and open-ended therapy, depending on what you’re looking for. Whether you need support through a difficult life event or want to explore deeper emotional patterns, I’ll adapt my approach to suit your goals and pace.

I work online, which means you can access therapy from wherever you are. Many clients find this convenient and appreciate being able to talk from the comfort and privacy of their own space.

About Me

Hello
I am Angelika Vraka, an experienced integrative psychotherapist offering a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore life’s challenges safely and at your own pace. I’m UKCP-registered and have over 17 years of experience supporting individuals through short-term and long-term therapy, both privately and via Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), including partnerships with Bupa, ComPsych, and Lyra.

Clients often come to me during times of crisis or transition—struggling with anxiety, low self-worth, abuse, relationship issues, or difficulties at work. Some feel overwhelmed by recent events, while others are carrying long-standing emotional wounds. Whatever brings you to therapy, I’ll meet you with compassion, care, and a steady belief in your capacity for change.

My integrative approach means I draw on a range of therapeutic models—including psychodynamic, person-centred, and trauma-informed practices—to adapt to your unique needs. At the heart of our work is the relationship we build: one grounded in respect, empathy, and deep listening.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Experiences of abuse—whether emotional, physical, sexual, or psychological—can have a lasting impact on a person’s sense of safety, trust, and self-worth. I work with individuals who have experienced abuse in childhood, within intimate relationships, or in other settings. My approach is trauma-informed and paced to suit your readiness. I provide a compassionate and supportive space where you can begin to process what has happened, understand its effects on your life, and gently rebuild your sense of identity, boundaries, and empowerment.
Anxiety can feel overwhelming and isolating, often affecting sleep, concentration, relationships, and self-confidence. I have extensive experience supporting individuals struggling with generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, and health-related worries. In our work together, I create a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore the roots of your anxiety, learn how it manifests in your life, and develop practical tools to manage and reduce its impact. Whether your anxiety is longstanding or triggered by a specific event or change, therapy can help you regain a sense of control and calm.
Going through a divorce can stir up a wide range of emotions—grief, anger, fear, and uncertainty. I offer a supportive and non-judgemental space to help you process this life transition. Whether you're at the beginning of separation, in the midst of complex decisions, or adjusting to life after divorce, therapy can provide clarity and emotional grounding. Together, we can explore the impact on your identity, relationships, and future, and work towards healing and renewal.
Workplace challenges—such as stress, burnout, bullying, redundancy, or feeling undervalued—can deeply affect your mental and emotional wellbeing. I have extensive experience supporting individuals facing a range of employment issues, including career uncertainty, toxic work environments, and performance-related anxiety. In our sessions, we can explore the impact of these difficulties, build your confidence, and help you make empowered choices about your work and future direction.
Separation can be an emotionally turbulent time, often involving grief, uncertainty, and a loss of identity. Whether you're leaving a long-term relationship or experiencing a recent breakup, I provide a safe space to explore the emotional impact and help you process what this change means for you. Together, we can work through feelings of loss or relief, rebuild your confidence, and support you in moving forward with clarity and resilience.
