My Approach

Symptoms tell us there is something deeper inside us that needs help and understanding.  We can work through your experiences together to learn how your behaviour can transform in a supportive life-affirming way.

You may be suffering from anxiety, depression, panic attacks, phobias, discontentment, patterns in your life that are holding you back; relationship difficulties, separation, divorce, family issues, children leaving home, death of parents, abuse, bereavement, trauma (ancestral, historical or recent), self-esteem (confidence and love for yourself), feeling sad, loss of identity, not knowing who you are, feeling lost for example.  These are all normal issues that we all face and are often not talked about and included as part of life.

Addressing symptoms and their causes helps create a more well-rounded version of ourselves.  By choosing therapy, you are making a commitment to yourself.

I work with individual adults of all ages.  I offer a free initial telephone conversation which gives you the chance to ask me questions and for me to get a sense of what you might need.  There is no obligation, just a time for you.  The priority is for you to work with someone you can trust.

Therapy is an important healthy part of our lives, our inner world is just as important as our outer world - it is part of our health and who we are.

About Me

I am an experienced Psychosynthesis Psychotherapist. I believe therapy is a space to explore your needs and live a happier life.  Together we can make sense of your feelings, behaviours and daily challenges, so you can overcome them with confidence and understanding.  I am here to support you through this process.  We begin by creating a safe space to explore in a way that feels right for you, helping with any anxiety.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Anxiety presents itself in most of our lives and can be debilitating and difficult to live with. Through listening to the symptoms the anxiety brings we can learn to develop a deeper relationship within our self. When we learn more about the symptoms deeper needs we can learn how to heal and transform our lives in deep meaningful ways.
We all suffer bereavement of some sort or another in our lives and it is important we are listened to and held psychologically through this process of grief.
I believe Depression comes about through a lack of healthy relationship with ourselves. Learning to relate, care with compassion and mindfulness can transform our depression and find a healthy voice for our anger.
Trauma is something we all experience to varying degrees in our lives. Often Trauma can be developmental - ongoing throughout our childhood and repeated. This can often be unconscious to us until we begin to struggle with life difficulties such as anxiety, stress, phobias which can lead to PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I can help you with this. Trauma also comes about through significfant obvious events in our lives and I can help with this also.
