I have a Master's Degree in Gestalt Psychotherapy, a modality that is person-centred and has a strong focus on the therapist-client relationship, awareness and the body. Gestalt is an existential and experiential modality of therapy, I use a combination of Gestalt skills, IFS, DBR and the polyvagal theory and my own creativity to facilitate my clients in developing the tools to support themselves in their healing process. I am a registered member of UKCP and an accredited member of GPTI.
I am an experienced psychotherapist and most recently the Clinical Director at Khiron Clinics, a leading trauma-focused residential facility in the UK. I bring years of specialist experience working with complex trauma, including Complex PTSD, Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), and conditions across the dissociative spectrum.
I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS Level 1), Neurofeedback, and I am Polyvagal-informed. I also integrate TIST (level 1) and Deep Brain Reorienting (Level 3) and into my clinical work, an approach that targets attachment shock and early relational trauma at the level of the brainstem. I have had training from some of the leading world experts in trauma.
Originally from Malta, I served as a manager at Victim Support Malta, where I played a key role in launching one of the country’s first suicide prevention therapeutic support teams. My work involved supporting survivors of crime, domestic violence, and other traumatic experiences. Over the years, I have also worked closely with multiple agencies supporting individuals with addiction, eating disorders, and histories of sexual abuse.
Earlier in my career, I collaborated with the Human-Dolphin Institute in the USA, exploring innovative therapeutic interventions. I’ve also taught part-time in the Department of Criminology at the University of Malta, and I continue to enjoy facilitating training and workshops.
I am a mother of three and a lover of animals, I bring professionalism, integrity, and deep passion to my work. At Khiron Clinics, I lead with a commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate care, guiding a dedicated team in delivering safe, integrative, and effective treatment for individuals recovering from early attachment wounds and complex trauma.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
