I work with you through dialogue to deepen your insight and reflective capacities, as well as invite regular body awareness and exploratory movement. Together we will pay mindful attention to the ways in which you tell and relate to your story, while gently noticing the impulses and overall spontaneity of your body. This approach can allow us to uncover early experiences and memories that cannot be accessed through language alone. It can also help recognise what leads to patterns of repression, compulsion, fear, addiction, feeling stuck.
I am a qualified psychotherapist (UKCP, BACP) working in private practice and the NHS. My approach is informed by the relational psychoanalytic, humanistic and cognitive behavioural traditions, with a sharper focus on developmental theory, infant research, somatic therapies, Gestalt and archetypal psychology. I am especially interested in the body psychotherapy traditions and I seek to include the body wisdom into my work. Drawing from different psychotherapeutic modalities, I shape our work together in a way that best supports your personal process.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
