My work is grounded in a systemic approach, meaning I focus on understanding difficulties within the context of relationships, family life, and wider systems rather than viewing problems as belonging to a single person. I aim to offer a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where people can explore complex thoughts and emotions together. My therapeutic work is collaborative, strengths-based, and evidence-informed, drawing on approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), DBT-informed skills, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).
I am passionate about supporting healthy relationships and helping people better understand themselves and one another. I look forward to meeting you.
Hello, I’m Alex.I am a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience across the NHS and independent practice. I support individuals, couples, and families experiencing a range of emotional, relational, and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, self-esteem issues, and relationship challenges.
I have worked in a variety of settings, including CAMHS, specialist Eating Disorder Services, and schools supporting Refugee and Asylum-Seeking Children and Families. I have also worked in private practice in Kenya, supporting young people and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Alongside my clinical work, my training includes a Master’s in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy from the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, following many years of living, studying, and raising a family abroad.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
