I am an integrative practitioner and mainly work within intuition. Within my practice, I offer empathy, confidentiality, unconditional positive regard, acceptance, fluency, reflection, and a sense of wonder and play. I have an enhanced DBS and a professional supervisor, who ensures I am at my best in my counselling work. I can offer counselling in both English and in Farsi. I believe the relational human circumstances of the client is very important. Therefore, I welcome working inclusively with parents/caregivers and schools.
I am Dr Ahoora Baranian, a psychotherapeutic counsellor specialising in working with children and adolescents. I received my qualification from the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. I have trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and am furthering my studies at the Institute of Group Analysis. My background is in medical engineering, where I received a PhD in Biomechanics and Vision Sciences.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
