My Approach

I work integratively, drawing on psychosynthesis alongside existential, humanistic, person-centred, Gestalt, Jungian and transpersonal approaches. This allows me to adapt the way I work to you as an individual and to what you bring to therapy.

Psychosynthesis is central to my practice. I believe that each person has an inherent capacity for growth and that, even during periods of difficulty or crisis, there can be an opportunity for greater self-understanding and transformation.

Together, we can gently explore patterns, adaptations and behaviours that may have developed in response to painful or challenging experiences. Rather than simply trying to push difficult feelings away, therapy can provide an opportunity to approach them with curiosity and compassion, helping you understand how they have shaped your life and relationships.

Psychosynthesis also recognises the different parts of ourselves that can sometimes feel conflicted. By bringing greater awareness to these parts, we can begin to develop a more compassionate relationship with ourselves and create greater freedom in how we respond to life.

Our work may explore the interconnectedness of body, feelings, mind and spirit, as well as your values, meaning and sense of purpose. My aim is to support you in reconnecting with your own inner resources and developing greater trust in yourself, so that you can move towards a more authentic, balanced and meaningful way of living.

About Me

I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor offering a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space for adults and couples to explore the difficulties, challenges and transitions they may be experiencing. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationships, low self-esteem, addiction, or simply feeling lost or disconnected from yourself, therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect and begin to make sense of what is happening.

I believe that being genuinely heard and understood, without judgement, can be an important starting point for change. My aim is to create a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship where you can explore what is troubling you at a pace that feels right for you, while developing greater self-awareness, self-compassion and trust in yourself.

I have a Master’s in Psychosynthesis Psychology, a PGDip in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, a PGDip in Counselling and a PGDip in Leadership Coaching. I have experience working with a diverse range of clients and concerns, including bereavement and loss, trauma and abuse, anxiety and depression, addiction and substance dependency, loneliness, stress, relationship difficulties, identity, career and work-related issues, personal development, menopause, and questions of meaning, purpose and spirituality.

We begin with an initial consultation, offered online, by phone or face-to-face. This gives us both an opportunity to explore what brings you to therapy and whether working together feels like the right fit. There is no charge for this initial consultation.

Ongoing sessions are 50 minutes and are usually weekly, with short-term, time-limited and longer-term therapy available depending on your needs.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Experiences of abuse can have a lasting impact on how we see ourselves, our relationships and the world around us. Whether the abuse was emotional, physical, sexual, psychological or relational, it can leave feelings of shame, confusion, fear, anger, guilt or disconnection. Therapy offers a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to begin making sense of what you have experienced, without needing to rush the process. Together, we can gently explore the ways in which past experiences may continue to affect your thoughts, feelings, relationships and sense of self. My aim is to support you in developing greater self-compassion, recognising patterns that may have developed as ways of coping, and gradually reconnecting with your own sense of worth, choice and inner strength.
Anxiety can show up in many different ways — as persistent worry, overthinking, panic, difficulty sleeping, feeling overwhelmed, or a sense of always being on edge. Sometimes we know what is causing our anxiety; at other times, it can feel difficult to understand where it is coming from. Therapy offers a space to slow things down and begin to understand what may be beneath the anxiety. While we may initially come to therapy because of a particular difficulty, our work can sometimes reveal deeper patterns, experiences or relationships that have shaped how we respond to ourselves and the world around us. Together, we can gently explore these patterns and the ways you have learned to cope, developing greater awareness and compassion for yourself along the way. My aim is not simply to help you manage anxiety, but to understand what it may be communicating and what might need attention beneath it, so that you can begin to experience greater freedom, choice and connection in your life.
Bereavement can affect every part of our lives, and there is no single or predictable way to grieve. The loss of someone we love can bring profound sadness, loneliness and longing, but may also bring anger, guilt, confusion or a sense that life has lost its meaning. Therapy can provide a safe and compassionate space to talk about your loss and to make sense of the many emotions that can accompany grief. There is no need to “move on” or follow a particular timetable. Instead, we can gently explore what your loss means to you and find ways of living with the changes it has brought. My aim is to offer a space where your grief can be acknowledged and held, while supporting you to gradually find your own way forward and, when you are ready, reconnect with a sense of meaning and purpose.
Divorce and separation can be deeply unsettling, bringing not only the end of a relationship but also significant changes to your sense of identity, family life and future. Alongside grief and sadness, you may experience anger, anxiety, loneliness, guilt, relief or uncertainty about what comes next. Therapy offers a confidential and non-judgemental space to process what you are going through and to make sense of the emotions and changes that can accompany the end of a relationship. It can also provide space to reflect on relationship patterns, understand yourself more deeply and consider what you want for the next chapter of your life. My aim is to support you through this transition with compassion, helping you reconnect with your own values, confidence and sense of direction as you begin to build a life that feels meaningful and authentic to you.
Questions of spirituality, meaning and purpose can arise at any stage of life, particularly during times of change, loss or uncertainty. Sometimes we can find ourselves experiencing a crisis of meaning — a sense of emptiness, disconnection or uncertainty about who we are, what we believe, or what makes life feel worthwhile. Therapy can offer a safe and open space to explore these questions without judgement or the need to arrive at any particular answer. We can explore what spirituality and meaning mean to you, whether this is connected to faith, a sense of something greater, nature, creativity, relationships, or a deeper connection with yourself. My approach is informed by psychosynthesis, which recognises the spiritual dimension of human experience alongside our thoughts, feelings and physical selves. I believe that periods of questioning or crisis, although often painful, can also become opportunities for deeper self-understanding, growth and transformation. I aim to support you in exploring your own understanding of meaning, purpose and inner life, and in discovering what feels authentic and meaningful to you now.
