Annual European psychotherapy trainee essay prize

Please note that the submission deadline has been extended from 31 July to 16 September 2024. It is now open to submissions on work from trainees, students or those within the second (and not just the first) year after qualifying.

The European Journal of Psychotherapy and Counselling (EJPC) is conducting its first annual European psychotherapy trainee essay prize. This competition offers an exceptional opportunity for trainees and students to have their dissertations, coursework or essays published in a respected peer-reviewed journal.

The prize is open to anyone from a psychotherapy, psychotherapeutic counselling, counselling or psychoanalytic training organisation/professional body based primarily in Europe.

Here are some of the criteria for submission:

  • Eligible submissions should be unpublished, as well as original assignments, coursework, essays, dissertations, or theses, which can be extended or shortened.
  • Trainees or students may submit their work while still in training or within the second year after qualifying.
  • Submissions must be made through the specific EJPC Trainee Prize portal, which will be available shortly.
  • Papers should be between 4,000 to 5,000 words, not including references, abstracts and bios.
  • Authors should follow the submission guidelines provided on the EJPC page.

Following the journal's peer review process, up to six papers will be selected for publication in the EJPC. The research must be practice-based, theoretical, or empirical in nature.

The submission deadline is extended to Monday, 16 September 2024.

Entries can be submitted via the submission page. Follow the usual author submission instructions in the portal, and then select "The Annual European Psychotherapy Training Essay Prize."
