Event overview

The trainee symposium brings together trainees, recently qualified practitioners and experienced professionals. It will give you space to reflect on professional identity, career pathways, contemporary practice and the learning that continues beyond qualification.

Through presentations, panel discussions and shared learning, you’ll explore how to build a fulfilling, sustainable and reflective career in an evolving profession. We’ll also look at opportunities for lifelong learning and getting involved in the wider psychotherapy community, recognising that your growth as a psychotherapist or psychotherapeutic counsellor continues throughout your career.

Designed with trainees at its heart, this first symposium aims to build connection, curiosity and confidence as you navigate the opportunities and challenges of becoming a psychotherapist. Our trainee symposium planning group has shaped the programme, drawing on the experiences, interests and aspirations of trainees from across the profession.
