UKCP Conference 2027: The unspoken, underexamined and their value to psychotherapy today

What remains unspoken, underexamined or taken for granted within psychotherapy? What conversations do we avoid, what assumptions go unchallenged, and what might we discover if we bring greater curiosity to these areas?

This conference invites practitioners to explore aspects of psychotherapy that are often overlooked, difficult to discuss or insufficiently examined. By reflecting on what goes unsaid, unchallenged or unresolved in the therapy room, in supervision, in training and across the profession, we will consider the value that greater openness, curiosity, courage and critical reflection can bring to therapeutic practice.

Through professional reflection, learning and dialogue, delegates will have the opportunity to examine the challenges, assumptions and changing contexts that shape psychotherapy, practitioners and the communities we serve. The conference will encourage curiosity, critical thinking and open discussion about the issues that influence what happens in the therapy room, as well as the present and future of the profession.

Bringing together a range of perspectives and experiences, the conference aims to foster connection, strengthen professional practice and support meaningful continuing professional development across the psychotherapy community.
