Independent assessor (direct member)

Become an independent assessor of our direct members and support the regulatory work of UKCP.

Job description

About the role

We’re looking for quality assurance assessors from across all UKCP colleges to work closely with the regulation and quality assurance team. The role involves reviewing direct member reaccreditation submissions on behalf of UKCP colleges and providing feedback to ensure they continue to meet UKCP and college requirements in future.

This is a paid role and training is provided. It also counts as part of your professional development while providing an opportunity to work with other assessors in your respective college. By assessing and reaccrediting direct members, you will be ensuring the continued integrity of the UKCP register.

Time commitments can vary, depending on the number of submissions received in a year and the complexity of submissions. Generally, a submission will take one to two hours to review and provide feedback.

About you

The successful candidate will be a UKCP registrant with knowledge of UKCP and college standards, policies and professional member requirements. A sound understanding of UKCP’s code of ethics and particular requirements for specific modalities and relevant client groups is also required.

This means you will be able to comprehend, interpret and analyse information from various sources and be able to exercise sound judgement to ensure professional member requirements are met.

You must also be capable of navigating complex and sensitive issues with tact, diplomacy and empathy.

Please refer to the independent assessor (direct members) role description for the complete list of requirements.
