My Approach

Body Psychotherapy brings together the psychological, physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of a therapeutic process. Usually a long-term depth psychotherapy, body psychotherapy evolves organically, grounded in the therapeutic relationship. Every process is as unique as the individual at the heart of it.

Following the threads of sensations and images can reveal thoughts and emotions previously unavailable to the conscious mind. Likewise, following thoughts and emotions can give rise to sensations and images. As we stay with our experience in the present moment with patience and awareness, subtle changes can occur, giving rise to further experiences, and so the process continues. As aspects of ourselves previously hidden beneath the level of awareness come into consciousness, we are changed, sometimes in a profound way.

The aim is for you to find your own unique way to access your inner resources as fully as possible at any given moment, helping you to feel supported, nurtured and enriched from within. This can bring a sense of mind, body and soul working more in harmony with one another.

The process is supported to unfold at your own pace by the presence of the therapist and the therapeutic relationship.

Body Psychotherapy can help you to discover, understand and integrate your experience of your inner world, enabling you to develop a wider range of choices about how you relate to yourself, other people and the world around you.

About Me

I am a qualified Body Psychotherapist and completed my training at the Cambridge Body Psychotherapy Centre (CBPC). I began my training at CBPC in 2013 after qualifying as a Biodynamic Massage Therapist at the London Centre for Biodynamic Psychotherapy (LSBP). I am also registered with the Association of Biodynamic Massage Therapists (ABMT).

I work collaboratively and creatively and have many years' experience as a client myself, having worked with therapists from a variety of approaches including Psychodynamic, Psychoanalytic, Biodynamic and Body Psychotherapy. I enjoy working with imagery and I like to encourage my clients to explore and use their own creativity, which I regard as a key resource in their therapeutic process.

I have 25 years of experience working in the voluntary sector primarily for the mental health charity Mind, supporting clients and volunteers and delivering Mental Health Awareness workshops.
