My Approach

I trained in;

Integrated Counselling, this is a combined approach using different elements of therapies to suit the individual.

CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), this aims to improve your mental health whereby developing coping mechanisms and emotional regulation, changing the way you look at situations.

Transactional Analysis, this is where social transactions are analysed to see which ego state you are in; child like state, adult like or parent like. It teaches you to understand your behaviour and to use the ego state which suits your situation the best.

About Me

I started my training in 2006 at the Northern Guild in Newcastle and at Leeds Met. Since then I have attended many counselling workshops to improve my knowledge. And had work placements at GPS surgeries and charities. I work as a Volunteer with RDA, Macmillan Cancer and British Heart Foundation.

I combine my time between London and Yorkshire. At the moment my practice is online due to COVID. This has worked well and my clients find it more flexible as it cuts out travel.

In Yorkshire you can drive to the door of my counselling room which is set in a garden and is a light, secure environment.

In London you can catch a tube to New Bond Street.

I work with

  • Couples
  • Families
  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

So many people contact me suffering from anxiety, more so during this difficult past year. I provide a safe place to talk and explore the reasons behind this and how strength and security can be found.
During my work placement I worked for Herriot Hospice Bereavement Care. This ignited my interest in Bereavement counselling and gained me many years of experience. So often people get “stuck” in grief and cannot find a way to move forwards and come to terms with loss and learn a way to move forwards,
This can result in very difficult emotions, therapy helps you to explore and process painful feelings and emotions. Internalising bullying clip causes many problems with your relationship with yourself and others. We explore coping skills, for communication, positive thinking and addressing experiences.
