I am a qualified psychodynamic, integrative and psychotherapeutic counsellor. I have been facilitating a support group for BEAT a national charity supporting eating disorders since the late 90s. I am also a qualified teacher.
How I work: I will work with you to explore your feelings and emotions in a safe and confidential non-judgemental setting. I believe that sometimes our present conflicts and how we respond to situations and relate to others can be influenced by our past. So we may therefore spend time examining past relationships and your childhood experiences. Early sessions will focus on building a working alliance so you feel able to share what may be troubling you and we will agree a contract for how we will work together and when we will meet. You control the content and pace of the sessions and together we will consider what choices you want to make and what direction you want your life to follow. It might also mean you coming to terms with painful situations from your past. Sometimes the sessions will be difficult and you may initially feel worse before you begin to feel better.
My counselling room is in SE18. There is easy access from Woolwich Mainline/DLR stations, Blackheath, Lewisham and Greenwich and Stratford with parking on surrounding roads.
Each session lasts 50 minutes and we usually meet weekly at the same time and cost from £55 per session,
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
