About Me

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist (UKCP reg.) trainer and supervisor with a wealth of knowledge and 30 years rich and varied experience of working with individuals, groups and couples on a variety of issues. I work in Central London W.1 and Exeter.

Mobile: 07716 113487

I offer consultations in London and Exeter and also offer Skype and Telephone consultations where appropriate.

I am passionate about my work and have a lot of life experience that has informed and enriched my practice but it is my clients who have taught me the most about life from their own stories and experiences. I have had the privilege to work with clients from very varied backgrounds enabling me to create tailor made programmes together with clients for their particular needs and situation.

I have also specialised in working with couple and individuals with relationship issues and have a comprehensive understanding of the complexity and sort of problems people encounter and how these can create stress and relationship breakdown.

Where separation or divorce seems the only option, I have extensive experience of supporting people through these difficult and emotive transitions. I have also worked for many years as a divorce consultant within Collaborative Law and know that it is often very helpful to separate out the emotional issues during therapy to enable best use of Mediation and to find the best possible outcome for all concerned

· Blended Family Issues
· Sexuality & Intimacy from an Attachment Perspective
· TA Concepts and Interlocking Systems in Relationships

Workshops can also be tailor made to requirements.

I began my career within GP practice for 3 years as part of a pilot project introducing counselling into GP practice whilst also having my own private practice in Bath and London.

In 1995 I became a trainer as part of the national team for One Plus One Marriage and Relationship Charity working with the dissemination of the Brief Encounters Programme mainly within NHS Primary Trusts. We trained health professionals, counsellors, policy makers and solicitors to recognise and understand relationship issues as part of a prevention project.

I was also a trainer at Relate (UEL and Hull University) and facilitated workshops at Conferences and to many different organisations and agencies including UKCP, BACP, IFT, Sure Start, SFLA, and SAAFA.

As an Independent training Consultant I have lectured at UK and Swedish Universities in all aspects of couple work as well as devising my own training both here and in Sweden

I am very interested in evidenced based practice and draw on a multi-faceted approach incorporating concepts and ideas from Psychodynamic, Systemic, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Cognitive Behavioural practices with a particular interest in Adult Attachment Theory and Affective Neuro-science.

Theories that have also influenced my work are from leading theoreticians in the field and include Prof. John Gottman, Prof Howard Markman, Susan Johnson, Bader & Pearson, Mikulincer & Shaver, Fishbane & Scheinkman, Harville Hendrix and many other contributors to the field.
