I am a UKCP - registered Psychotherapist with a postgraduate training in Psychoanalysis and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and a Psychologist with a Master-level degree obtained in Germany.
I also obtained a certificate as Clinical Supervisor with the Society for Analytical Psychology in London (SAP).
Additionally I did foundation courses in Systemic Family Therapy and CBT, and I have attended several training modules in trauma therapy.
I have been working as a Psychologist/Psychotherapist for more than 20 years in various clinical settings and private practice.
For most of the time I have been working for the NHS in both Primary Care (IAPT) and Secondary Care Mental Health Services and thus have a lot of experience in all kinds of mental health problems, psychological symptoms and issues, such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, self-harm, bereavement, childhood abuse, trauma and relationship problems.
As a Supervisor I have been working with many different therapists from various professional backgrounds, and I also have experience as a training therapist for psychotherapy and counselling trainees.
My training also included the use of imaginative methods to explore and transform the inner emotional world.
If you are looking for a therapist to help you understand and manage your problems, issues or symptoms such as depression, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, a lack of self-worth or relationship difficulties, I might be able to offer you a more in-depth understanding of your problem and some support to put the necessary changes in place to get better.
I am a psychotherapist with more than 20 years of professional experience in various areas and I am providing long-term and brief Psychotherapy and Counselling from both a Psychoanalytic/psychodynamic and a spiritual perspective.
Providing a trusting space for my clients in a co-operative therapeutic relationship is important to me.
I enjoy working with metaphors, images and dreams and like to encourage clients to tap into their own creativity during therapy.
I also offer clinical supervision from a psychodynamic perspective.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
