I work with a relational approach, this means that in our work together, we will pay attention to what emerges in the room between us. This often gives valuable and very direct insights into the issue we are working with. I incorporate elements from Gestalt therapy, here you might be invited to use stones to lay out situations to help us explore them. This helps to access and experience feelings in the here and now that are somewhat "buried". I believe that every time we can access and express, truly experience and stay with our feelings about ourselves, others or situations in our life, we arrive in our "self" a bit more, and here change can happen. For many people this is difficult to do without support. Feelings get suppressed or distracted from, and this is where a multitude of issues arise, such as depression, anxiety, lack of self worth, feeling of emptiness, loss of identity etc. Psychotherapy offers a support system to articulate and explore feelings and thoughts in a safe and held space and allow a process of inner change to unfold from there.
