My Approach

At a pace set by you, I aim to offer the empathic and confidential support for you to explore your innermost thoughts and feelings. You may want to examine your life choices – past, present or future; to recover from loss and come to terms with a ‘new normal’, process the end of a relationship or traumatic event or to navigate and understand the ever changing emotional states that make us all human.

Guided by my knowledge and experience of different psychotherapeutic approaches, I seek to provide the warmth and non-judgemental space you may need to express and acknowledge your distress. From this calm and reflective atmosphere, I aim to encourage your self-awareness, to support any behaviour changes, identify routes to emotional regulation and to help you to recognise personal relationship boundaries and appropriate coping skills. Further, I look to provide psycho-educational information and to assist you in identifying other ways in which you can develop a core strength to withstand life’s inevitable blows.

About Me

I am a fully registered and qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor with a BSc Hons in Integrative Counselling. I am passionate about attending continual training events in order to update my professional knowledge and to ensure that my work with you remains creative, adaptable and current.

I have a particular interest in
• relationship dynamics within friendships, family and work and the associated feelings around abandonment, rejection and attachment
• panic, anxiety, obsessive and negative thinking
• emotional abuse, coercive control and trauma
• addiction

I offer an initial free half hour session for us to meet and to give you an opportunity to decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. Subsequent hour long sessions are usually on a weekly basis at a cost of £45 per session. If you are in receipt of benefits or in financial hardship, do let me know so that a reduced cost can be discussed.

I work from a private counselling unit in the Colchester/Clacton area with free on-site parking. I am happy to see you face to face, by telephone, Zoom or Google Meet.
