Psychotherapy can be of great benfit in times of change, in the aftermath of difficult events or when things just don't seem quite right. I offer a tailored approach to each of my clients using elements of psychodynamics, CBT and the systemic approach. The psychodynamic approach places the individual in the context of the key relationships they have formed throughout their lives and looks at how a person's internal world can interact with their experience of the external world. The CBT I use can be of great use for individuals that experience a lot of anxiety, whilst systemics is of great value in at times of life-cycle change that effect the dynamics within a family(such as leaving home, the empty nest and retirement.)
Current research shows that the key to successful therapy is the quality of the relationship between the therapist and the client. With this in mind I suggest that we have an initial phone conversation to touch on what has lead you to seek counselling. Then I would suggest we have an initial assessment session to gain a further understanding of your situation and allow us to decide whether we would like to continue working together.
