My name is Sally and I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor working from my home between Pocklington and Malton.
I know that finding a safe space to be able to share with someone the emotional issues that get in the way of leading a full life can be incredibly healing. I offer a warm and welcoming environment in which we can work together to make sense of the difficulties you may be experiencing.
My career began in the corporate world of training and development, I went on to run my own very demanding business and have more recently worked for both the NHS and Social Services. I have a depth of understanding of the pressures that our busy working and relational lives can put on our emotional health.
I have worked at both York Women's Counselling and KYRA Women's Project in York providing both long and short term counselling for women with a range of needs.
I am a Specialist Mentor for students at York University who have Autism or Mental Health difficulties and I have completed the National Autistic Society Essential Training. I am currently undertaking the Certificate in Hypnotherapy with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy.
I have raised a large family and have a wealth of experience of the pressures and challenges (and joys) of parenting and family relationships and can offer empathetic support with these issues.
Whatever the problem, I am confident that my life experience and professional training will be able to help you to move through to a more productive and positive place.
My approach is to work in collaboration with you, at your pace. My aim is to offer you a place to bring the difficulties that are stopping you from fulfilling your potential or getting in the way of a happier life.
Our relationship of trust and confidentiality will give you the opportunity to explore the issues that you may not be able to share with friends and family.
I have experience of working with depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, parenting struggles, grief, abuse, anger issues, personality disorders and trauma. My integrative training helps me to pull on a number of different approaches to offer support with your unique situation.
I have a helped people with employment difficulties including leadership, people management, workplace bullying and making career changes. I have been an employee, an employer and a business partner and feel able to bring that experience to the therapy room when helping with workplace challenges.
Clients welcome my warmth, my openness and my empathetic approach.
I offer one to one counselling in my rural home in the beautiful Wold's countryside. Clients have found the peaceful and private setting a really therapeutic environment. I am currently offering walking therapy sessions so that we can meet face to face. I have the Chalkland Way running through my home and clients tell me they really benefit from walking and talking in this stunning scenery.
