My professional training is in Integrative Psychotherapy which in broad terms means I draw on a range of therapy models to address the individual needs of my clients - in other words "one size does not fit all". I do not attempt to fit clients into one particular modality of working as this can be at best limiting and at worst counterproductive in some cases. It is all about the individual and their relational needs in a collaborative working alliance.
I believe we should all invest at least as much on our psychological well being as we do on our physical well being. My work as a psychotherapist and counsellor aims to emphasise this overall balance, with the ultimate goal of helping individuals improve their experience of life - yes in spite of their past difficulties or background development.
My core integrative psychotherapy training is the basis for adopting an inclusive approach where therapy is geared to the person's individual circumstances and experience. My lengthy experience as a mental health professional, mental health nurse, former manager and psychological therapist provide me with a comprehensive understanding of the many challenges people face everyday when trying to navigate through services to get the help they need. Please contact me if you wish to know more about my professional credentials or just want to discuss your difficulties in confidence.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
