*IMPORTANT EDIT* I am preparing to emigrate in August 2020 and I am unavailable to take on new clients in the UK
Hi and welcome to my profile page. I am a fully accredited Clinical Person-Centred Psychotherapist and Counsellor working in Eastcote/Pinner HA5 and Uxbridge UB8.
Looking for the right therapist can be a daunting task, especially if you are in the midst of a challenging time in your life. I am a warm, compassionate, non-judgemental Psychotherapist offering a confidential space to explore any issues which may be impacting you. It is not always possible, desirable or helpful to talk to friends and family, especially when we are going through a difficult time. Therapy is a unique, safe space to process your thoughts and feelings and to gain perspective on issues which may be affecting your life, both past and present. Therapy is a place for nurturing personal growth, personal development and healing. The process of therapy helps to facilitate your self-awareness, put you in touch with what is important to you, and ultimately increase understanding of how to lead a more fulfilling life.
Some people seek out therapy due to a specific issue e.g. coping with anxiety, low mood, emotional distress, physical symptoms of stress, relationship problems (personal or professional), traumatic experiences, coping with bereavement of a loved one, problematic compulsive behaviours etc. Other people may be experiencing a more general sense of unease with their life or a feeling of being ‘stuck in a rut’, but not knowing how to move forward. Some people find it easier to open up and talk than others, especially during hard times. Whatever your unique circumstances; whatever your reasons for seeking therapy, I will respect you for who you are and we will work together at your pace.
Research proves that a good relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor for therapeutic change. As such, it is important to find someone that you feel comfortable with. This is an entirely personal choice and I offer a free no obligation 20 minute telephone consultation to all new clients. This gives us a chance to talk to see if we are a good fit for one another. Once therapy begins (online, face to face or telephone depending on your preference), it will be your decision how long you wish to attend. I work with clients both shorter term (less than 10 sessions) and longer term (more than 12 months).
All psychotherapists accredited by the UKCP meet stringent training and CPD requirements as well as abide by the UKCP Code of Ethics. I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Person-Centred Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute and my Masters Research looks at the experience of family members of individual’s diagnosed with ‘Schizophrenia’, which is a topic close to my heart. I also have a personal interest in working with people living with hidden disabilities (both mental and physical). I have been seeing clients for 6+ years and practised as a Psychotherapist at Hillingdon Mind between 2015-2019.
