A key part of the way I work is about the nature and quality of the relationship I establish with each person I see. Everyone is unique and so I work in different ways to encourage you to develop greater insight, awareness and understanding of why problems have arisen and how you can enable change to happen. My training was in integrative psychotherapy, so I can draw on many different theoretical ways of working, depending on the needs of the person I am working with. My aim is to be compassionate, respectful and genuine, endeavouring to create the best therapeutic conditions for you.
I am an Accredited Psychotherapist and Counsellor with a well-established private practice in a quiet setting near to the centre of York . I have experience in working with a wide range of issues and my aim is to help you to work through whatever is troubling you in an empathic and non-judgemental way. Whether you simply need to gain greater clarity and insight into a current problem, or to work through more deep-rooted problems from the past, you can choose how long you stay and what you discuss. Your issues can be personal, family, work-related or a combination of events and problems. This may have built up over time or happened very suddenly. Whatever you bring we can discuss together and help you to find a way to resolve difficulties.
