Psychotherapy in Ealing W5
In addition to my psychotherapist registration with the UKCP through Humanistic and integrative college, I am also a psychosexual and relationship therapist accredited by COSRT (College of sexual and relationship therapists) which is an organisational member of CSRP (College of sexual and relationship psychotherapists), another college under UKCP.
I have been offering psychotherapy over twelve years to individual clients and over eight years to couple clients. My current private practice is based in Ealing, W5, West London. I once worked in a group private practice in the City. I also have experience working with psychotherapy trainees.
Away from Ealing practice, I have been working as a psychosexual counsellor at a busy sexual clinic in King’s college hospital. I work with individual as well as couple clients at this sexual clinic.
Difficulties I treat and referral sources;
Issues which clients bring to my Ealing practice could be summarised into anxiety, depression, eating disorders, obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours, relationship issues, self-esteem, sexual difficulties and stress, each not necessarily exclusive to one another. Most of the clients who comet o my private practice in Ealing arrive through self-referrals via my website (www.maripsychotherapy.com) or through my profiles on other websites for psychotherapy and counselling. Occasionally I take on referrals from an EAP (Employee assistance programme) for tightly focused time-limited counselling. I am also acquainted with an NHS urologist consultant who gives out my contact details to appropriate patients who visit his private practice in central London.
At King’s college hospital’s sexual clinic, I treat client whose sexual difficulties have psychological element. Examples of psychosexual difficulties I treat are low sexual desire, pain during intercourse, lack of orgasm, erectile difficulties, premature ejaculation and retarded ejaculation. Clients are referred exclusively by medical staff who works within specified boroughs in southeast London.
I would like to explain how I run my practice in Ealing with regards to fees, place, timing, cancellation policy and contact between sessions.
Currently I charge £50 for individual clients and £60 for couple clients for a 50-minute session. Please pay cash at the beginning of each session.
I see you in person at my private practice in Ealing W5, west London. It is conveniently located within ten minutes walk from Ealing Broadway, Ealing Common and North Ealing stations.
Timing of your sessions
You and I will agree on a fixed timing of your weekly session, namely a set time on a set date each week. I will keep this slot only for you unless you actively cancel any future sessions. Each session starts on the hour and finishes at 50 minutes past. Even when you arrive early I will probably not be able to let you in; I do not have any waiting room and I might be writing down a note. Even when you arrive late, I will not extend your session beyond 50 minutes past. Please make the best of the 50 minutes available.
If you know that you cannot attend your future session, please let me know as soon as possible and at least 167 hours (or seven days minus an hour) before the start of the session which you intend to cancel. Any session cancelled this way will not be charged. If you want to have an alternative session during the same week, I will endeavour to offer you a slot. The re-scheduled session will be charged normally.
If I received your notice after this 167 hours cut-off point, I expect you to pay the fees. I ask of your understanding; I could be turning down requests from other clients who want to have the same slot which I safeguarded only for you.
If you forget to attend your session, your fees will be charged. I will not make attempts to re-schedule your session.
I would like to keep this policy based on respect to my existing clients who also respect my diary management and make the most of their weekly sessions.
Contact between sessions
As means of electronic communication becomes cheaper and conveniently accessible, I am becoming more aware of what can and cannot be done with this means. A good example is that treatment of trauma is carried out always in person.
You are more than welcomed to contact me between your weekly sessions and I will make effort to acknowledge my receipt of your message as soon as possible. I shall, however, not enter into any discussion of what you wrote or said in your message. I will instead re-confirm the time and date of your next session and perhaps suggest talking about what you wrote or said in your message during your next session.
