My Approach

Systemic therapy can help families, couples and individuals understand problems relationally, and offers a space to look at problems from multiple perspectives. If something feels stuck or reoccurring, I will help you to understand the meaning behind difficulties and explore this within the multiple layers of life including work, social and family contexts. If you are processing a change, loss or trauma, I will draw on narrative approaches to help you tell this story and find a place of acceptance.

This form of therapy can be short or long term. Sessions occur fortnightly or less frequently, because we believe that shifts occur in-between sessions. More information can be found on the Association of Family Therapy (AFT) Website: https://www.aft.org.uk/consider/view/family-therapy.html

I offer online working for the convenience, and a face to face space can also be offered.

About Me

I am an experienced Systemic and Family Psychotherapist working with families, couples and individuals. I am interested in how family stories and relationships influence our view of the world, and work intuitively to help navigate difficulties in the relationship with ourselves and others. I work with cross cultural couples to think about the influence of these differences on them and future generations. Many of the clients that I meet choose me for my cultural curiosity and experience of working across generations. I am also experienced in working with adolescence and the unique needs of this age group. In private practice and in my NHS role, I work with trauma and have a special interest in how this shows up in the body both physically and emotionally. I work with sibling groups and families across the globe to understand some long standing unhelpful family patterns.

I also supervise colleagues and teach professionals and students. You can find me on social media sharing more about the way that I work.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Psychotherapeutic approaches strive to consider experiences from all backgrounds, and races. Most of the time, this can be difficult terrain, leaving aspects of a group's story, unheard. It can be this hidden narrative, that provides a voice to the unsaid, and unlocks a path to healing relationships.
I specialize in working with prolonged and enduring mental health issues including mood disorders, psychosis, schizophrenia, as well as personality disorder, learning difficulties and substance misuse.
