My Approach

Working with individuals on a weekly basis is most effective for the therapeutic change process. I provide weekly 50 minute sessions.

Lets face it, attending therapy can be hard work. Sometimes, people need more guidance than others. Whether you are struggling to know what to say, or struggling to know what to filter out, I will guide you by asking questions and gently enquiring into your experience. Therapy is about making sense of our internal worlds, so that we can be more self aware and develop meaningful connections to our external worlds.

Therapy is set at your pace, working on the areas you choose to focus on. It is a commitment, a commitment to future you, who knows that you can learn to feel and live in a healthier way. My approach encourages you to embrace your feelings, unpack you thoughts and learn to listen to the wisdom of your body,

What to expect in our first session:

Our first interaction, usually will be a brief telephone call. This call is to see if we are a good match. I will answer any questions you may have, and I will tell you a little bit about how I work. This will not be a therapy session, it's an opportunity to see if we could develop an effective working relationship. I appreciate the anxiety you may have, especially if you are new to therapy. If after this free 15 minute phone consultation you wish to continue, we would book a time and date for our first session.

The first session is an opportunity for us to determine what you would like to get out of therapy, so setting some goals can be useful. This is an assessment session, so I would ask more questions initially to determine our focus and establish what we are working towards.

**I aim to respond to enquiries about working together within 2 working days **

Therapy should not be exclusively for those that can afford it. I do believe in accessible mental health care for all, therefore I hold a limited amount of spaces for reduced rate sessions.

£110 Initial Assessment 90 minutes
£70 per 50 minute session
Sessions are either weekly or fortnightly, based on your resources and therapist availability- some appointment times are weekly only.
Sessions are exclusively online

About Me

Connection is fundamental to our wellbeing and survival. When we feel disconnected from ourselves, others and the world, it can be an isolating experience. When we struggle to express ourselves it can feel like we are pretending to be someone else. The fears and worries that can take over your mind, can be tamed and better understood.

In therapy we can work as a team to help you understand yourself better, and develop a deeper sense of self. Through learning about yourself, you can also improve how you show up in relationships. Don't forget that you are your biggest and main responsibility.

As a Contemporary Psychotherapist, I am accredited by the UKCP. After volunteering at Mind in London for some time, I took the step to set up in private practice. I am passionate about working with women and guiding them on their healing journey. As an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I particularly work with clients with trauma, anxiety, and relationship issues.

Recently I have attended several trainings on Internal Family Systems (IFS) as a type of therapy. This approach has been beneficial to me personally and professionally. I am currently on a waitlist to become registered as an IFS Therapist. So for now, I am officially IFS informed.

Since 2010, I have worked in a variety of NHS acute & community services supporting people with complex mental health needs. My experience has also been in forensic & employment settings, providing assessment and rehabilitation for those whose function has been impacted by their mental health.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Are you tiring yourself out with all this searching? What if searching for your ‘problem’ is part of whats holding you back? What if your anxiety could be your superpower? It’s our human instinct to strive to be better and to find meaning and purpose in our lives. You can have that.he pace down and start using it as a resource.Living in this cycle of anxiety is tiring, the reassurance seeking and avoidance can be really consuming.
The dynamics we create with our loved ones can be sources of love, connection and intimacy. When we feel these needs are not being met it can feel lonely and confusing, this can lead to a lot of hurt. Together, we can understand who you are in relationship so that you can gain deeper understanding, feel less anxious and connect emotionally with those close to you.
It is important for you to know that what you’re experiencing is not your fault, nor does it need to be your life sentence. A fulfilling life after trauma can be possible, even thought it might seem like you’ve been living this way forever. There is nothing “broken” in you that can’t be healed. Through therapy you can begin to understand how to stay present and tolerate your symptoms. You can learn about your body’s physiological response to perceived danger and how to ride those waves. As a trauma informed therapist, I will help you achieve a sense of safety. You can rebuild your life and finally experience the peace you deserve.
