Sometimes our thoughts and emotions can feel too much for us to deal with. We may feel vulnerable, lost, torn or stuck, and find ourselves in need of help. Therapy allows us to gain an understanding of ourselves and creates a path towards positive change.
I am a professionally qualified and highly experienced UKCP Accredited Counselling Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, working with adolescents, adults, couples and groups. My therapy practice is based in Whitley Bay, just 5 minute walk from a metro station. I also offer therapy over a phone and online via: Doxy, Skype or Zoom.
My areas of expertise include: depression, anxiety & stress, low self-esteem, relationship issues, family dynamics, addictions, LGBTQ, bereavement & loss, and trauma. I also have an interest in psychosomatic illness; how the emotion can affect the physical body, and cultural diversity related issues.
I can provide therapy in English or in Polish (no translators).
Training, qualifications & experience.
I have over 10 years experience of working as a therapist with young people, students and adults at various well known treatment facilities across the North East; NHS, Mind, Tasha Foundation, The Clearing just to name a few.
My main training is Integrative Psychotherapy, which combines different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs and goals of the individual client. By combining psychological theory and research from CBT, Mindfulness, Transactional Analysis, EMDR and Creative Therapies I create a flexible and tailor made treatment for my clients. The aim is to help clients identify the core of their emotional difficulty, so it can be resolved.
I trained at the Northern Guild in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, which is BACP and UKCP accredited and took 6 years to complete. I hold Masters degree in Psychotherapy from Birmingham University (distinction), and certificate in Clinical Supervision. I have practices clinically since 2010.
I studied how to supervise at the Northern Guild. The training was integrative and experiantia; heavily based around supervisee's goals, ethics and how creative methods can help overcome impasse in client - therapist relationship. My supervisees find me approachable and dynamic, as I encourage the use of self as a vital role in understanding their processes.
