I practice as an integrative psychotherapist, using different approaches, such as Eastern philosophies, cognitive, psychodynamic, and mindfulness, to understand each individual's story. As a counselling psychologist, I am also very passionate about promoting culturally sensitive therapy in the community and race equality in mental healthcare services in the UK. During my eight years of doctorate training, I am the creator of the Mindfulness Calligraphy Enhanced Therapy (MCET), as an innovative and culturally sensitive psychological approach to bridging the underrepresented Chinese clients in the UK. My work and culturally sensitive psychotherapy approach won the 2020 UKCP members research funding and the 2022 BPS diversity award in the Division of Counselling Psychology.
I come from a family with a long history in traditional Chinese medicine and I firmly believe in the unity of the mind, body and spirit. I work in an integrative, creative and relational style which draws on Eastern philosophy, western psychotherapy, and psychological knowledge related to your issues.
I’m a trauma-informed therapist, and I work with the body, mind and spirit holistically.
