Hello and thanks for your enquiry.
I adopt an open, relaxed and transparent approach to therapy. You are an adult and I will not infantilise you. All aspects of your life are important to me: you are free to share aspects of your social, political and spiritual life if you wish.
I wear many hats: psychotherapist, transformational coach, yoga/meditation teacher and bodyworker. My website reflects this. Be assured that if you are seeking my services purely as a psychotherapist, then this is what I offer you.
I do not believe that there is something wrong with you which needs to be fixed: rather there is integrity and beauty in you which awaits discovery.
I am fully trained in Transactional Analysis and in Integral Psychotherapy. Over the years, I have incorporated a range of humanistic and psychodynamic approaches into my work.
I am a psychotherapist with 25 years experience who has recently relocated to Hove after running practices in Manchester and Hebden Bridge. Prior to this I worked as a Registered Mental Health Nurse for 10 years.
I offer a safe and supportive environment and a deeply empathic ear. Having completed 34 years of intensive personal development to date, I am sensitive to the pains and joys inherent in the therapeutic journey and will work with you in a manner which respects and celebrates your uniqueness. I have found that talking helps; it opens us up ever more fully to life by extending, developing and refining the resources we already possess to meet it.
I have practiced yoga and meditated in a variety of yogic and Buddhist tradition since 1983. These trainings have helped me to achieve clarity and attunement in the sessions I offer.
My first session is offered free of charge and lasts for 30 minutes. Subsequent sessions are of 50 minutes duration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
