My Approach

I am a systemic psychotherapist, which means that I am interested in the influence of people’s wider contexts, their histories and their relationships and how this is impacting on the ways in which they are experiencing the world. I take the view that the person is not the problem, rather the problem is the problem, so I will work alongside you in a non-judgemental way, to explore your dilemmas, develop new meanings and understandings, and help you to find a new way forward.

I believe that you are the expert of your own life, so I will never tell you what to do, but rather will help you think through options around change and enable you to choose your own way forward. I seek to find an approach that is a fit for clients, so I aim to be as flexible as possible in terms of planning sessions and in deciding the frequency and longevity of the work.

About Me

I am a qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist with 9 years of experience working alongside children, young people and families, to make changes to their lives (since 2015). I have worked with families and individuals facing an array of dilemmas, from family breakdown, couple separation and divorce, managing loss and chronic illness, anxiety and low mood, LGBTQI+ related-issues, intimate partner violence, child to parent violence, child abuse and neglect. I have worked in high risk contexts of Children’s Social Care and the private sector.

I am also a qualified Social Worker and have experience providing clinical supervision to social workers and systemic practitioners. I also have extensive experience offering training to social workers, systemic practitioners and foster carers.
