I am a Gestalt therapist in private practice working with adults of all ages and with couples. I also worked for several years in the community as an assessor and volunteer counsellor in a long-established counselling centre, and in a GP surgery.
It can be daunting to ask for help when things in life have become overwhelming. I believe that the key to success in therapy lies in developing a trusting, caring relationship. I aim to offer you a warm, calm, supportive and non-judgmental environment in which by talking together we can look at whatever difficult issues you are facing. I work by listening and responding carefully to everything you say. Whether it relates to something from your past which is still troubling you or something you are worried about which has yet to happen, if it concerns you now, then it is relevant and of interest to me in working with you. Sometimes it may also be helpful to discuss how we are relating to one another.
Your aims and hopes will be individual and unique to you. My aims are to engage with you sensitively and respectfully and to help you understand your feelings at your own pace.
I have an MSc in Gestalt Psychotherapy from Middlesex University/Metanoia Institute and an MA in Humanistic Counselling from the University of Nottingham.
I also have a Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counselling, a Postgraduate Certificate in Trauma Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Couples Work.
