I provide Psychotherapy for individuals and couples who wish to establish more positive ways of living their lives. I have over 10 years experience in private practice and am currently completing doctoral studies in Counselling Psychology.
I aim to provides a safe and supportive environment for my clients. My focus is on increasing my client’s self-awareness and empowering them to make positive changes (through recognising existing negative beliefs and behaviours) and assisting them in creating the lives they wish to lead (through establishing empowering new behaviours and setting attainable and sustainable goals for the future). I supports adult who are going through life's transitions (such as divorce or bereavement) as well as supporting clients who are suffering from mental health challenges such as anxiety or depression.
I work integratively, which means that I am not bound to working within only one theoretical tradition and, as such, I tailor my support to fit the specific needs of each client. My way of working is psychodynamic in nature, which can provide a greater understanding of our history and our deeper selves, including aspects which may not be wholly conscious to us. I also have significant experience of using Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Cognitive Behavioural Techniques (CBT) techniques, which provide clear tools for changing specific unhelpful behaviours.
