My Approach

I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment for couples and individuals irrespective of sexual orientation and gender identity.

I am a couple/relationship therapist and a psychosexual therapist. Where there is a sexual component to the problem, I combine couple or individual therapy, to resolve any underlying relationship or other issues, with a behavioural approach which may include a series of exercises which the client(s) undertake at home between sessions.

I see my clients on a weekly basis and the therapy I offer is not time-limited and continues for as long as is necessary or wanted. Endings are by agreement between us.

About Me

I am a highly qualified and experienced relationship and psychosexual therapist working in private practice in Central London; Camberwell, South East London and online using Zoom.

I trained and qualified at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships in London (now Tavistock Relationships). I was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Couple Counselling and an MSc in Psychosexual and Relationship therapy (with Distinction).

I have previously worked as a visiting clinician, trainer and as an academic tutor at Tavistock Relationships.

I am a Senior Accredited member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) and a Registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and, as such, I am bound by their codes of practice and ethics.

I undertake regular supervision and a programme of continuing professional development.

  • Individuals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Therapy can enable couples to reconnect and rebuild their relationship especially when communication and trust have broken down; where there is conflict or where the partners are struggling with painful and uncomfortable feelings. It can help to resolve some of the problems you are currently experiencing and to make informed decisions about the future. Discussing problems in a constructive way with a professional third-party can give you the tools to think about things differently. For example, you may not have considered how the past impacts on and informs the relationships that you make in the present. Thinking about and exploring this can lead to a better understanding of yourself, your partner and your relationship. Relationship counselling can also be helpful for individuals who may be struggling to find the right partner or who seem to be unable to maintain relationships. Perhaps a relationship has recently ended, and you are struggling to move on. Or you may want to talk about something without your partner being present.
Counselling can help couples and individuals to understand more about the irretrievable breakdown of a relationship, enabling them to separate in a healthy and constructive way and to move forward with their lives.
Sex is an important and intrinsic part of a couple’s relationship. Even in loving relationships the sexual relationship can break down for any number of reasons. This can have a profound effect on the functioning of a couple and their ability to relate emotionally and physically. Individuals can also be seen for psychosexual therapy. Problems around sex may be preventing you from forming or maintaining relationships. The problems encountered by couples and individuals can be diverse and may be rooted in a wide range of issues, both past and present. They can include lack or loss of desire, orgasmic difficulties, sexual pain, problems with erections and premature or delayed ejaculation.
