My Approach

My aim is to provide a safe space for you to share and explore your thoughts, feelings, memories and hopes without judgement. My role is to hear your story and help you to gain the strength and confidence to navigate life's obstacles yourself. Therapy can be hard emotional work at times but I will support you and be alongside you on your personal journey. My hope for you is that you benefit from our time together and from giving yourself time to reflect on issues front of mind, and perhaps those that you keep hidden from view.

My training in psychodynamic practice underpins my work but will I also draw upon other modalities and methods depending on your needs.

I offer both short term counselling (typically six sessions) or longer psychotherapeutic work all delivered conveniently by phone or online.

About Me

I am an experienced and accredited counsellor and trained to Masters level at the University of Oxford. I work exclusively with adults, though my previous work and training with adolescents can be especially helpful in my work with clients who are also parents, or for people who experienced trauma at a young age. If you have experienced grief and loss, my training and volunteer work for Cruse Bereavement Care means that I am particularly able to support you.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

There are a number of life stages where you might experience age related issues, for example finding purpose while first leaving home, finding a partner or first relationship, perhaps having, or trying to have a family, or difficulties whilst going through perimenopause or menopause, old age (loneliness). Entering a new life stage often leads to an exploration of past and present - I'd love to help.
Bereavement and loss can have far reaching impact, including a re-evaluation of self, life and purpose. I can help support you both from the early stages of loss, through to delayed grief for losses previously experienced. Your experience is unique, but the need for support at such a difficult time is not. Working together, I can help you process your loss and be alongside you through this difficult time.
Workplace changes can have a significant impact on confidence and self. Perhaps you have difficulty finding the right career, or notice patterns in workplace dynamics that make it hard for you to enjoy your role. You might be looking for help to support you through growth and progression at work, or you might be going through redundancy or other issue over which you'd like support. My experience and interest in organisations and the dynamics within them means I am well placed to help you.
