My Approach

There are times when we need a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to begin to explore and make sense of challenging life events and the emotional distress that we may be experiencing. These difficulties can lead to symptoms and behaviours such as anxiety, depression, panic attacks and self harm.

It is also at these difficult times we may begin to feel isolated, confused and unable to make sense of our unhelpful behaviours and emotional responses. It can also lead to the breakdown of important personal and professional relationships.

Before we work together, I will offer an exploratory session to discuss whether solution-focused counselling or longer term work is suitable for you. It will also give you a chance to ask any questions that may not have been covered here, and it will give you the opportunity to get to know me and the style in which I work. The exploratory session also aims to identify what your main goals might be from our work together.

I offer a professional and confidential therapeutic space to enable us to begin to make sense of your experiences, and to help facilitate the changes that you may want to make. The key ingredients to help facilitate this work is one of trust and empathy which is developed during our work together.

About Me

Please note that I will be retiring from Psychotherapy and Supervision at the end of April 2024. I am, therefore, not taking on any new clients.

I am an experienced Psychotherapist with over 20 years experience in the field of counselling and psychotherapy, gained in private practice, two specialist services in the NHS, primary education and with employer assisted programmes. I have also been a visiting lecturer at the Metropolitan University, and a Professional Advisor for YoungMinds (a charity fighting for children and young people's mental health).

I also offer supervision to trainees and qualified practitioners.
